It’s still hard to believe that Kobe Bryant is gone. Man how short is life? I won’t say I was a huge Kobe fan, because I wasn’t. I am not a huge basketball fan, but I’d be lying if I said his life didn’t impact mine. Kobe’s name rang bells all through my childhood and life. I still remember boys in school shooting balled up paper into the trash can yelling “Kobe.” Kobe Bryant wasn’t just a basketball star though. He was a man of excellence. Perfect in no way, I mean point out a perfect person to me, I’ll wait. His good outweighed his bad and I’d like to believe he was striving to be better every day. This man exuded excellence on and off the court and inspired me in many ways. He was an international icon. His legacy will go on forever. I’m sure if you look up the word legacy you’d see his picture right next to the word. He was a husband, father, basketball player, business man, legend, and so much more. I often wonder what I will leave behind when I die. What would be said about me? What impact would I have had on the world? Kobe Bryant’s legacy is one to look up to.
