You Got It Girl MaCharie Ward
I’m always inspired by black women doing their thing. I caught up with the CEO of Amore Therapuetics, Macharie Ward and she was certainly an inspiration. Her walk with Christ is beautiful. Her passion fuels anyone in her presence and she exudes Black Girl Magic. I had a chance to interview her and I hope you will be just inspired as I am.
Tell me about your yourself/business.
My name is Macherie Ann Ward, born and raised in the 7th ward of New Orleans by a wonderful grandma Carol Ward, my grandpa Ernest Lacoste, my mom, aunts and uncles. My business was birth from the news that my grandfather had cancer and I wanted to find every way to help the man who molded my vision of the woman I would become. Amore Therapeutics is built on a foundation of the love my grandfather showed me growing up. We offer full body massages, facials, body contouring, waxing, manicure and pedicure services.
What do you love most about being an entrepreneur?
What I love most is the opportunity to explore different avenues to help my urban community to a healthier way of living.
How did you identify your passion when starting your business?
My passion comes from seeing how the work I do transforms people’s lives. And how they are able to give back to their community.
Describe the Amore Therapuetics Ecperience.
At Amore Therapuetics we offer an holistic full body experience, with hopes of renewing the mind, body, and spirit. We are more than just a spa. We are a safe haven for all people to gain a greater sense of self worth and self care.
Tell us about the products you offer.
Amore Therapuetics offers a full range of body products. Thos products include body scrub, body wash, natural soaps, body butter, and also a small line of cosmetics. Our motto at Amore Therapuetics is “ the better you look, the better you will feel and the greater works you will accomplish.”
Who inspires you?
I am inspired most by the life of Jesus Christ, a person who gained the whole world by surrendering himself.
What are some mistakes you wish you could've avoided?
None of them. Because of my mistakes I am able to teach others to avoid pitfalls.
How does Amore therapeutics differ from other businesses?
Amore Therapuetics is an independent black owned female business. We curate every product used on our clients, while offering grade A service to all people no matter race, content, or creed!

How do you balance business/mom life?
I involve my child in all aspects of business. He helps with everything from creating product to greeting my customers at the front desk. Everyone knows who Mazin is! nity
How do you handle adversity and doubt?
Prayer takes me through all things!! When it’s too tough for me I KNOW that NOTHING is too hard for God, so I stay steadfast in His Word.
How important is entreprenuership in the black community to you?
I feel entrepreneurship is the way to take back our city. Each one teaching one to scale up and offer more to our community, creating generational wealth.
Where do you see your business in the next 5 years?
My goal is to see 20 other Millionaires in business and prospering beyond what the world has set a standard for them to be.
If you could go back and speak to your younger self, what would you tell her?
This is a very emotional question for me. Growing up in Downtown New Orleans, I wasn’t presented with many examples of what succsess looked like. However, I had a greatt grandparent who poured Christ into me and told me I could become anything I wanted to. I was motivated by my aunts that told me one day I would do great things. If I could go speak to young MaCharie I would tell her hold on. I would encourage her that she would become the change she wants to see.
What advice would you give another woman who was on the fence about starting a business?
It ain’t nothing but a scratch if you don’t make it, but a million people are waiting on you to go. So, JUMP SIS!!!
