It has been almost a month since I’ve sat at my computer and typed a blog post. The last post I published was June 17th and to be honest it felt kinda good to step away. But, did you miss me though? - There’s a saying that goes, “if you love something, let it go and if it comes back then that’s how you know.” Well, that’s what I did. I love writing. It may just be my first love but, I had to briefly step away because God needed me to be still for a moment. It is in moments of stillness that God can fully get our attention. With all the stuff going on in the world right now, my feelings, thoughts and emotions are all over the place and God needed my attention, so He sat me down for a moment. And as clear as day I heard Him say, “Girl get up! So here we are…
If you know you know! I got my butt up. It’s okay to have feelings. It’s okay to feel angry or even be a little depressed at times, but girl you gotta get up. You can not allow your feelings to dictate how you show up. You can’t reside in a place of depression forever. You gotta get up. When I first decided to take a few weeks off it wasn’t because I was listening to God though. It was because I was drained. Life has been, LIFE! I wanted to show up and be the encourager. I wanted this to be the place where you get what needed for the week, but I did what only I could in those moments and that was step away. I was in need of a refresh. I later realized that God was trying to show me that I could show up in different ways. Then the birth of my You Got This scripture cards happened. I pose this question to you, what are you hindering from being birth in your life because you won’t be still? I always tell you, you got this, but as I’ve mentioned before that doesn’t mean you have to be every woman Sis! Sometimes you have to go have a seat. Be still and Know that God is working on you and through you. And if you out here being a busy body, you might miss out on your next blessing. So here’s some two part inspiration for you sis. Be still when God orders you to, and Girl get up when He commands! Don’t stay down forever. Take that reset, refresh, relax, but when it is time, girl get up! Call a friend today and tell her Girl, get up. If you are that friend that needed to hear it, I’m gonna tell you now, Girl get up. Get up Sis and light this world up! There are moments when all you can do is be still, but when it’s time to rise GIRL GET UP!
