God is the real MVP: He prepared me for this

God is the real MVP: He prepared me for this

It’s amazing how God prepares us for things we never see coming. So much has transpired in my short life, yet God always prepares me for everything that comes my way. Sometimes I don't even realize it. To say God is good is an understatement. Basketball is canceled but I can tell you who's still the MVP.

Well as everyone knows the world is going crazy due to the latest pandemic called the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Here in Louisiana our children are out of school for a whole month to help keep them safe. I’m not opposed to this, but I do understand that some parents have work and have no help. I used to be that parent. My husband and I both worked demanding jobs and had slim to none in the area of help. Had this taken place a year or so ago, I’d probably be freaking out myself. But, Back to God's preparedness. As I mentioned I worked a very demanding job as a mail carrier. We all know their slogan is rain, sleet or snow and guess what that includes pandemics also. A few months ago God sat me down though. And in that moment of stillness He was able to move in my life. He removed me from that job (that I hated) and placed me in a position where everything I prayed for was given to me. When I received this blessing, I was overjoyed, but I never realized what God was preparing me for.

God knows everything. So that means He knew what the world is facing today was coming. He knew the kids would be out of school and that they would need me. The job I have now is as a substitute teacher. This means while my kids are home, I’m home. Though I'm not getting paid, I am able to be home with them. Being in a classroom setting everyday has equipped me with the tools neccessary to keep them learning in a structural way while they are out of school also. Had I’d still been in my previous job, I don't know what I’d be doing right now. Probably losing it, but God.

But God being who He is came through like He always does. I know to some this may seem like a small thing, but for me it is EVERYTHING. God prepares in ways we would never imagine and I’m glad He has prepared me for this. I take on the challenge, but knowing God hasn’t failed me yet keeps me pushing forward. Lord you will forever be the real MVP!
