The Struggle is Real

The Struggle is Real

For the last few days I have been trying to find the word(s) to describe the feelings and emotions that are traveling through my body. I think I have finally deciphered what that word is. STRUGGLE. The struggle is real. I am safe, yet I am struggling. I am struggling with my sanity right now. I am struggling to find the balance of consuming too much information. I am struggling to get on social media and also struggling to not get on social media. Same with the news. Like I wanna know what is going on, but then I am consumed by the reality of it all. The struggle is real. I am struggling to physically get up out of the bed. If I didn’t have kids, the bed would probably be my permanent dwelling place. Speaking of children, I am struggling to continue to parent under these conditions. My nerves are on the last string and I have regretfully snapped way to often. My faith is being tested and while I have faith that God will bring us through this, I am struggling to walk in that faith right now. The struggle is REAL!

Have you ever had to walk around pretending that you were just fine, when really inside you just wanted run, yell, hide and scream? That’s how I feel. That’s how many of us are feeling right now. So many people have reached out and asked me what’s wrong and the funny thing about that is, I can’t properly descript my feelings. All I can say is THE STRUGGLE IS REAL.

Through it all though I continue to praise God for His loving kindness, grace and mercy. The trials and tribulations I am facing now are hard. The struggle is real, but Jesus admonished me to be of good cheer because He has already overcome. (John 16:33) So Sis, here I am admonishing you through this emotional, physical, and mentally draining time, YOU GOT THIS! The struggle may be real, but God is realer. I am in no way saying that you must pretend to be ok, I’m not saying to hold in your tears. Nope, I ain’t even doing that. Feel all those feels, but don’t take up residence in those feelings. Remember who God is and what He promised.

The times are dark and the light may seem dim, but praise God through this storm. Those weapons that God said would not prosper, sure feel like they are prospering right? That’s because all we can naturally see is the physical. We are looking at what is right in front of us. We gotta look pass that Sis. The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen is FAITH. Now is the time to activate your faith Sis. Forsaking All I Choose Him. Choose God right now. Cry if you feel the need to. Yell, scream, fight the air if you have to Sis. Then dust yourself off and remember who and whose you are. He will never leave you out here down bad. I see what you see right now and that struggle is real, but it’s time for us to look past our struggle Sis. Are you willing to activate your faith with me? Here are 7 scriptures to help activate your faith during these difficult times.

7 Scriptures To Help Activate Your Faith During Difficult Times

  1. Joh 16:33 In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

  2. James 1:2-4 My brethren count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

  3. Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.

  4. Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

  5. Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.

  6. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

  7. Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

The struggle is real. Trust me I know, but God is bigger than any struggle, problem, fear or worry. Place your total trust in the Lord and He will guide you through this tough time. Cry it out, feel all the feels, but don’t allow that place of emotional exhaustion to become permanent. Give it to God Sis and activate your faith. Praise God through the storm and WHEN we get through this we’ll praise Him some more. I am praying with and for you and I just want you to know: THE STRUGGLE IS REAL, BUT YOU GOT THIS!!!! Come back and read these scriptures whenever you feel the struggle taking over.
